With Easter on the horizon, the ABC Classic concert schedule for April features a number of concerts for Holy Week, from Bach to contemporary Baltic composers. There is also a healthy serve of world-class pianists, including Jayson Gillham, Andrea Lam, Dejan Lazić and more, as well as a broadcast of the complete production of Opera Australia’s La Juive, the first Australian performance of Fromental Halévy’s grand opera in 150 years. And in a special radio event, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra under Chief Conductor Eivind Aadland are performing all of Beethoven’s symphonies, coupled with some illuminating juxtapositions that cast new light onto these beloved works.
