The virtuoso fiddler has a fondness for Bilbo Baggins and reveals the time he fell off stage.

The Taiwan-born violin virtuoso was educated in Brisbane and next week he’s coming home as part of the latest Musica Viva National Tour. Among the most exciting young violinists today, Maxim Vengerov, no less, said of him: “Ray has proven himself to be a very pure musician with great qualities such as a beautiful youthful tone, vitality and lightness. He has all the skills of a truly musical interpreter.” His first Australian recital tour will see him accompanied by Timothy Young and should be laced with spectacular fireworks, from the elegance of Mozart and Prokofiev to the exuberant acrobatics of Sarasate.

A naturally stylish fellow, Ray is noted for his committment to breaking down the barriers between classical music, fashion and pop culture – he’s even been supported by Giorgio Armani and been featured in Vogue magazine! With that in mind, the obvious next step up the glamourous ladder was to take the Limelight 20 Questions challenge.
