Concert pianist Simon Tedeschi has written his first book, Fugitive, “an undiluted portrait” of himself and the world he lives in, which he describes as a “prose poem”. As he tells Miriam Cosic, it’s the thing he is most proud of in his career thus far.

Simon Tedeschi’s home in Sydney’s Inner West is small and neat. As small and neat as the concert pianist himself. The spaces are shot through here and there with the electric paintings of his wife, the Filipino-Serbian artist Loribelle Spirovski. There are books everywhere.
