On the Terrace is fast becoming an Adelaide fixture. Now in its sixth year, the event is a sort of mini music festival, with dozens of musicians performing amongst the buildings and permanent collections of some of the city’s most beloved cultural institutions, including the State Library, the Migration Museum, the Art Gallery of South Australia and SA Museum.

The event is hosted by Chamber Music Adelaide (CMA), an organisation devoted to promoting chamber music in South Australia – especially for its member ensembles, Adelaide Baroque, Ensemble Galante, Kegelstatt Ensemble, Recitals Australia, Soundstream, The Firm and Various People Inc – and to building connections and developing skills across the industry.

The entire day is designed to be family friendly, and a relaxed and welcoming environment, aimed especially at people who don’t have much experience with chamber music.
