Composer Alice Chance has a lot on the go, including a new string quartet for the Bowral Autumn Music Festival (BAMF). She is also the vocal arranger and musical director for Yve Blake’s new musical Fangirls, which premieres at Queensland Theatre in September and then has a season at Belvoir in Sydney. Her song Data Dust was in the final ten for Eurovision – Australia Decides.

Chance completed an Honours degree in Composition with Paul Stanhope at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she was awarded the 2012 Ignaz Friedman Memorial Prize for academic merit in Composition. She has also completed composition residencies in India and the US. Her work has been performed by The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, The Song Company and Musica Viva for the Enigma String Quartet, among many other ensembles. She spoke to Limelight about BAMF and other projects.
