With over 160 credits on IMDB, Grammy-nominated, Australian musician Tim Davies has composed, orchestrated or conducted everything from Disney’s Frozen to FOX’s Empire. But it’s his most recent project, Netflix’s animated series, Maya and the Three, that presented a rare opportunity for the Brisbane native. Davies was able to bring the project home, recording the orchestra and choir at Trackdown Studios in Sydney. Davies usually orchestrates and conducts other composer’s work, so to be able to record his own score at home was a real treat. It’s also worth noting that Maya and the Three doesn’t just have a standard series score either, it is one filled with a variety of musical sounds, such as ones from Aztec and Inca mythology.

Davies studied percussion and composition at the Queensland Conservatorium in Brisbane, and composition at the Elder Conservatorium and the University of Melbourne. His film and TV credits as lead orchestrator and/or conductor include Frozen and Frozen 2, both Ant-Man movies, The Lego Movie 2, La La Land, Trolls, Minions, The Peanuts Movie, The Croods: A New Age, Empire, The Book of Life, and WandaVision.
