Chairman of the Sidney Myer Fund, Andrew Myer, has announced the winners of the eight 2021 Sidney Myer Performing Arts Awards. Since they were established in 1984, the Awards have recognised excellence in Australia’s performing arts industry, presenting $25,000 each to artists and facilitators. In 2020, the Sidney Myer Fund increased the number of Performing Arts Awards to eight instead of the original three as a response to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The last couple of years have placed enormous pressure on everyone working in the performing arts. While venues are now open, the pressure and risks for artists and companies are still very real,” said Andrew Myer.

The recipients of the 2021 awards are split three into three categories: Facilitators, Groups and individuals. The two Facilitator prizes went to Victorian-based Australian Digital Concert Hall and Bureau of Works producer Erin Milne.
