Elena Kats-Chernin and Tamara-Anna Cislowska join forces for inaugural classical performance.

The Sydney Opera House’s annual celebration of female achievement, the All About Women Festival, will for the first time in 2015 present a classical concert in addition to the one-day event’s usual series of lectures and panel discussions.

Presented in partnership with ABC Classic FM who will also broadcast the concert live, the performance will feature two of Australia’s most accomplished and acclaimed female classical artists: celebrated composer Elena Kats-Chernin and multi award-winning pianist Tamara-Anna Cislowska.

The concert, titled Classical Women: 4 Hand Freestyle, is described as a “music in action” performance. Kats-Chernin and her long-time collaborator Cislowska will perform a series of improvised duos based on the popular composer’s catalogue of piano repertoire.

The performance, which will take place at the Sydney Opera House’s intimate Utzon Room, will be hosted by ABC Classic FM’s new Classic Breakfast presenter, and regular Limelight contributor Julian Day, who in addition to his career in broadcasting is also an acclaimed composer.
