Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra has announced the details of its 2022 concert season, featuring guest artists Lior and soprano Sofia Troncoso, and for the first time it has added a fourth mainstage concert featuring the full ensemble.

Under Artistic Director Brendan Joyce, Camerata is Company-in-Residence at Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) and performs without a conductor. Each year it undertakes a regional Queensland tour, while its subscription season takes place in Brisbane and Toowoomba.

The 2022 season kicks off in February with Four Seasons Reimagined, combining music by Vivaldi, Max Richter, Piazzolla, O’Connor and more.

In July, soprano Sofia Troncoso joins the ensemble for Illuminations, featuring a program of works by Elgar, Debussy, and Britten.

After years in the making, Camerata will finally welcome singer/songwriter Lior to perform the ARIA Award-winning song cycle Compassion, composed with Nigel Westlake, alongside work from Australian composer, Robert Davidson.

And in November, Camerata will conclude its season with a performance of Mozart’s mighty ‘Jupiter’ Symphony and his beloved Sinfonia Concertante, performed by an expanded ensemble of Queensland-based artists.
