In response to overwhelming demand for tickets, the Queensland Symphony Orchestra have announced today that they will be staging a fourth performance of their up-coming collaboration with British celebrity physicist Professor Brian Cox, Academy Award and Golden Globe winning composer Dario Marianelli and violin virtuoso Jack Liebeck. Journey through the Cosmos had already been extended once from its originally advertised two performances, but even an additional third concert was not enough to satisfy the volume of ticket requests.

Funded by the Queensland Government’s Super Star Fund, which provides financial support to allow internationally renowned stars and productions to exclusively appear within Queensland, the combination of house-hold names, space science and music has proven a tremendously popular mix. “This production will be a major drawcard for interstate visitors”, says Queensland Arts Minister Ian Walker, “the Queensland Symphony Orchestra is thinking big and aiming for the stars”. The international reputation of the celebrity line up for the production has created a unique opportunity for the orchestra, says QSO Chief Executive Officer Sophie Galaise. “Professor Brian Cox is seen by many as the heir to the great Sir David Attenborough.
