The winners in the classical music, opera, music theatre, jazz and visual media/film categories of the 2023 Grammy Awards have been announced in a ceremony taking place in Los Angeles.

The 65th Grammy Awards recognises the best recordings, compositions, and artists of the year (from 1 October 2021 to 30 September 2022).

Best Opera Recording was awarded to The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and The Metropolitan Opera Chorus for Terence Blanchard’s Fire Shut Up in My Bones, a work based on the memoir of the same name by the journalist and columnist Charles M. Blow. It tells the autobiographical story of a young African-American man growing up in poverty while dealing with the sexual abuse he previously suffered at the hands of his cousin.

The Grammy for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album was awarded to soprano Renée Fleming and Canadian conductor-pianist Yannick Nézet-Séguin for The Voice of Nature: The Anthropocene.
