Christie joined TAB in 2013 and has overseen the expansion of the company, the continued growth of the audience base, the acquisition of Orchestra Victoria and the extensive remodelling of the company’s home, the Primrose Potter Ballet Centre in Melbourne’s Arts Precinct.

“Libby has made an outstanding and enduring contribution to The Australian Ballet, leading the company through a period of significant change with great professionalism, energy, and resolve. She has provided real strength in leadership during some very challenging times more recently and has laid the foundations for a very exciting and successful future,” said Dunn.

“Under Libby’s leadership, through careful planning, financial management and fundraising, both the company’s assets and artistic horizons have grown.”

The Board hopes that the new appointment will be made in time for Christie to hand over to her successor by the end of 2022.
