A blockbuster exhibition featuring more than 160 prints and drawings by Dutch artist M.C. Escher is coming to the National Gallery of Victoria as part of its Spring/Summer 2018/19 season, the gallery has announced. The world-premiere exhibition Between Two Worlds | Escher X nendo will see Escher’s works presented in an immersive environment created by Japanese design studio nendo.

Escher, who is best known for his optical illusions and whimsical buildings, created some of the most iconic images of the 20th century, such as his famous Relativity, which features a room of ‘impossible’ staircases. Escher’s works will be presented within a deeply immersive Escher-inspired exhibition experience created by Japanese design studio nendo.
