Limelight Arts Media Pty Ltd, the publisher of Limelight Magazine, has announced changes to the management structure of Australia’s classical music and arts magazine.

Robert Veel and Bruce Watson, directors of Limelight magazine, will take on the role of the magazine’s publishers, with Cara Anderson newly appointed to look after the day-to-day operations of the magazine in the role of General Manager from September 18. Anderson has a strong background in arts administration. She is currently Director of Engagement with Music Australia, where she has been enployed since 2014. Prior to this, she worked for Opera Australia and in various other positions in event management and marketing.

In announcing the appointment, Limelight Arts Media directors Robert Veel and Bruce Watson say, “We welcome Cara to the Limelight team. She has an ideal combination of private sector and publicly-funded arts organisation experience, balancing quality and integrity with commercial imperatives. She understands the arts landscape in Australia and has good knowledge of how philanthropy and the grant funding process works. These are both areas in which Limelight is seeking to become more active in the coming years.”

Limelight Magazine is a vital voice across the national arts landscape,” says Anderson. “I am thrilled to be joining the team at Limelight Arts Media and look forward to bringing my expertise to strategically lead the organisation into the future, supporting the publication to continue representing the many voices and conversations that are essential for a vibrant arts sector to flourish.”

Limelight’s strong editorial team, headed by Editor Jo Litson, remains in place.

After ceding ownership of the Limelight Magazine masthead to Veel and Watson in March this year, former publisher Andrew Batt-Rawden has taken up a position with Sydney’s Legs on the Wall physical theatre company.
