Melbourne Recital Centre has announced Chinese-Australian composer and performer Mindy Meng Wang and Australian conductor and performer Erin Helyard as its Artists in Residence for 2022. Launched in 2017, the MRC Artist in Residence program has previously included pianist Anna Goldsworthy, recorder virtuoso Genevieve Lacey, Indigenous composer and performer William Barton, and pianist Paul Grabowsky.

The Artist in Residence program offers select artists freedom to perform regular concerts and recitals across the year, offering facilities and spaces to accommodate a vast variety of productions. Marshall McGuire, MRC’s Director of Programming  welcomed the new additions.

“We wanted to shine a light on those artists who have something to say, want to explore, take some risks, and connect with an audience and audiences over the span of a year”.
