The NSW government has announced 20 new appointments to the state’s Artform Advisory Boards.

The advisory boards were instituted as part of the overhaul of Create NSW grant funding in 2019 under the Arts and Cultural Funding Program guidelines.

These boards assess applications made to Create NSW’s Arts and Cultural Funding Program, provide recommendations to the Minister – who will have final say on any funding decisions – and advise on strategic directions for the sector.

The new appointees include Cressida Griffith, General Manager of Pinchgut Opera, Zoe Hauptmann, Artistic Director of the Sydney Improvised Music Association (SIMA) and Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival, and Rosemarie Milsom, founding Director of the Newcastle Writers Festival.

They join the advisory board members previously announced in August 2019. According to the department, more than half of all Artform Advisory Board Members are women, over 30% are from regional NSW and Western Sydney, 16% are Aboriginal, and 11% are from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
