The Sydney International Women’s Jazz Festival (SIWJF) has announced the lineup for its 2021 festival, to be held over 10 days from 12 – 21 November. While the closure of borders has robbed the festival of some of its international flair for the second year running, the diversity and breadth of the communities and musical cultures on display will give audiences a little taste of jazz all around the world.

“We are thrilled the 2021 festival is going ahead,” said Co-Artistic Directors Zoe Hauptmann and Peter Rechniewski. “Jazz is an ideal medium for seated, social distanced settings.”

“This year presents a unique opportunity for music lovers to experience the magic and intimacy of jazz. Few Australian musicians have been able to perform live since the onset of the coronavirus, and these artists are so excited to perform for audiences at this year’s festival.”

The festival will take place in a number of venues, including the Utzon Room at the Sydney Opera House, and of course Foundry616, Sydney’s long-standing jazz club in the heart of Ultimo. There will also be a festival pop-up bar, Ruby’s, at Joynton...
