Whatever one’s experience of Christie Whelan Browne’s performances, it’s obvious she’s got talent.

Perhaps you’ve seen her as a luminous leading lady in MTC’s recent classic comedies including Twelfth Night and An Ideal Husband. As a chameleon comedian in the ensemble of ABC’s Mad As Hell, playing everything from plain Jane dweeb to hot TV reporter. Or fearlessly flying solo (with musical accompaniment) in boutique shows such as Britney Spears: the Cabaret.

The team that brought us that oft-revived, prescient 2009 cabaret have reunited for this latest Whelan Browne showcase. Show People is written and directed by Dean Bryant, while Mathew Frank reveals he’s a man of many talents including composer of this show’s two original songs, musically agile piano accompanist (hats off for the dizzyingly rapid medleys), and occasional dour bit player opposite the star. He’s good but she’s great, playing eight characters in a series of vignettes – including two at once in a phonecall scene.
